Glass Studio Pumpkinpalooza (Norfolk)

Activity: Join the Studio team in creating your very own glass pumpkin. Choose from an array of color options to make your object unique. With the instructor’s help, apply colorful crushed glass to molten clear glass on a long metal tube. Objects are inflated with a special compressed air device. Watch as the team spirals a curly stem to bring your pumpkin to life.

Activity: Are you ready for a “wild” night walking through decorated galleries of spooky animals, lit trail walks, pumpkins and more? Families encouraged to wear their favorite costumes for a 30-45 minute walk through the upper level of the museum and outdoor areas. Night of the Living Museum returns with a one-way trek through the indoor and outdoor galleries allowing guests to view and observe themed decor and animals in a special WALK through the museum. This not-too-spooky Halloween Walk is for families with kids ages 12 and under. Get your costume ready and come dressed as your favorite character or wild animal. The Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K Weekend is now virtual allowing us to deliver wicked good times to your doorstep. Whether you haunt your neighborhood streets or bring your boos to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, our Wicked swag is going to make you the talk of Halloween. Activity: The VBSPCA’s annual Mutt Masquerade is back again this fall, and we’ve gone virtual to ensure the safety of our community. Participants can look forward to a virtual 5k, a virtual 1 miler, and a virtual costume contest, all to take place between October 25th and 31st! Activity: Take a StoryWalk™ along Hayden's Lane in Downtown Smithfield - a fun family activity! Smithfield Library will be displaying pages along Hayden's Lane from the children’s story book "The Ghosts Went Floating" by Smithfield native and children's book author, Kim Norman. The lane is located beside the Smithfield Gourmet Bakery & Cafe at 220 Main Street and will be decorated for Halloween. Begin by picking up a "Passport" at the Visitor Center (319 Main Street) with instructions. When the StoryWalk™ is completed children can turn in their passport to the Smithfield Library for a Halloween treat AND for the chance to be entered into a drawing for an autographed copy of the book and a $20 gift certificate to Darden's Country Store and Smokehouse! Activity: Cars will be parked in every other spot to provide the 6 foot social distance needed. If all cars will not fit in the front parking lot, the side lot near the basketball court can be used as overflow. Spots can be marked off for distance requirements. A trunk or treat “one path” will be maintained for all families to follow. Our path will begin at the entrance closest to the church office/mailbox doors and will end at the end of our trunk presentations. Volunteers will be present to guide traffic along. Candy will be pre-packaged by volunteers and be handed out in a safe manner. A photo booth will be set up for families to take pictures.
