There are two ways your submission may be featured:

Community Updates
Editorial Consideration

For qualifying community opportunities, such as:

Complimentary Community Listings are reviewed for editorial consideration. Submission does not guarantee publication.

Priority is generally given to opportunities that are free, publicly accessible, and primarily intended to benefit local families.

Submission Guidelines

Before submitting, please make sure your Community Update or Announcement is:

  • Local to families in Hampton Roads
  • Family-focused
  • Positive and community-oriented
  • Current or upcoming

Examples of eligible submissions include family-focused business announcements, enrollment openings, discounts and promotions, parent resources or events, employment opportunities, and open houses.

All submissions are reviewed for relevance and alignment with MyActiveChild’s editorial guidelines. MyActiveChild reserves the right not to publish a submission. Payments for Featured Community Updates that are not approved will be refunded.

What Happens Next?

Submissions are reviewed Monday through Friday. Approved Community Updates are generally published within one week of submission.

We’ll contact you by email if additional information is needed before publication. If your submission is better suited as a Featured Community Update, we’ll reach out with your options before publishing.
