Since 1981, the Foodbank, a member of Feeding America™ and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore. In our mission to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our community, the Foodbank has distributed over 272 million pounds of food equating to over 226.8 million meals throughout our 4,745 square mile service area, which includes the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and Virginia Beach as well as the counties of Southampton, Northampton, Sussex, Isle of Wight and Accomack.

The Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank is a nonprofit organization that was created to provide emergency supplies of diapers to those in need. Organized list of participating community partners throughout Hampton Roads.

(757) 587-4202 Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Housing Crisis Hotline is the starting point for anyone who is experiencing a housing crisis throughout Greater Hampton Roads and in need of shelter, case management, and related services and/or community resources.

A nonprofit dedicated to minimizing trauma in children and strengthening families. Providing parent advocacy services in CPS cases, resource and referral, and are launching a shared housing program to provide safe and affordable shelter.

Utilizing culturally competent education, resources and mentorship, we support attachment and bonding within the family system in order to reduce involvement with the child welfare system, increase parental confidence and capacity, and produce improved educational and social outcomes for all children.

Light and Life Therapy is a new mental health office in Norfolk, with current availability. We are actively accepting clients and referrals for both in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. Our office is conveniently located within walking distance of the Light Rail and Sentara Leigh Hospital. We offer support for a variety of needs, including trauma, Faith-based counseling Creative Arts Interventions (Music, Art, Dance Therapy Individual, Group, Couples, and Family Therapy Grief & Loss Life Transitions Sexually reactive behaviors Borderline Personality Disorder Military clients Trauma & PTSD Depression & Anxity ADHD and so much more. Our therapeutic modalities encompass individual, group, and family therapy, as well as dance/movement therapy and creative arts (music, art, poetry, drama).

Our mission at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk (RMHC-Norfolk) is to keep families close to children facing medical challenges. We fulfill our mission by providing lodging for families of seriously ill children.

The King’s Kids Youth Development Center is a newly opened, Christian-based nonprofit childcare facility in Norfolk, Virginia. We will provide clothing, food, resources, educational items to individuals and families in the community. Donations, food and clothing will be accepted and distributed to help individuals and families within the community.

Crisis Hotline: (757) 251-0144 (call or text) The YWCA offers comprehensive support services for those affected by violence including shelter, advocacy, medical accompaniment, and respite childcare. Also available: crisis short-term and long-term counseling to victims, significant others, and other friends/family members affected by the violence.
