Since 1981, the Foodbank, a member of Feeding America™ and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore.
In our mission to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our community, the Foodbank has distributed over 272 million pounds of food equating to over 226.8 million meals throughout our 4,745 square mile service area, which includes the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and Virginia Beach as well as the counties of Southampton, Northampton, Sussex, Isle of Wight and Accomack.
ForKids works to support families and children experiencing homelessness in Hampton Roads.
Housing Services include emergency housing, rapid rehousing, supportive housing, and support to Veterans Families. Families experiencing a housing crisis can call the ForKids hotline at (757) 587-4202.
Families receiving housing services may also receive housing-focused case management, life skills training, job coaching, mental health services, and children's education programming. Children experiencing homelessness may receive education support such as customized instruction, mentoring, advocacy, afterschool tutoring, summer educational programs. Families at ForKids may receive support with housing placement, job coaching, mental health coordination, and case management.
The Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank is a nonprofit organization that was created to provide emergency supplies of diapers to those in need. Organized list of participating community partners throughout Hampton Roads.

The Housing Crisis Hotline is the starting point for anyone who is experiencing a housing crisis throughout Greater Hampton Roads and in need of shelter, case management, and related services and/or community resources.
Parents in Need is a year-round program that assists families with the needs of young children. PIN has a "free shop" in Chesapeake that is open by appt. only. PIN is open to the Hampton Roads community and provides essentials for infants through age 6.
The goal of Shining Light Homes is to be an Advocate for struggling single mothers. We connect them to available resources and provide education, counseling, goal setting, and other life skills that will help these young mother become self-sufficient and productive citizens in their community. it is our desire to move these you women from homelessness to a home of their own.
