Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture is a non profit organization that is committed to reducing food insecurity within the Hampton Roads area, through urban farming, educational programming, and by creating a sustainable food system. We manage community gardens that are utilized to train veterans and community members in growing their own food or starting a small scale farm.
We offer programs around healthy eating, over 80% of the food grown in the garden is given away to those in need. We are working to launch our Drones in Agriculture program for at-risk youth as a way to expose them to careers in agriculture, STEM, coding, healthy eating as well as our youth farmers market entrepreneurship program.
