4-H Club Programs and Summer Camp4-H is the youth development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. 4-H, the largest comprehensive youth development program in the nation, educates young people, ages 5 to 18, through a variety of experiential techniques that encourage hands-on, active learning. Many learning groups meet regularly and summer camps are also scheduled.
Residential 4-H Camps—programming events for youth ages 9 to 13 in which campers stay overnight (5 days, 4 nights).
Special Interest 4-H Camps—programming events focusing mainly on a specific project or theme area. There is a large variety of special interest 4-H camps available. Different age group requirements are offered for these camps.
Cloverbud 4-H Camps—programming events for youth 5-8 years of age. Youth must meet the minimum age of 5 between October 1 and September 30, and must not be older than the maximum age. -
Academy Road LanguagesOffering French, Spanish, German, Arabic and English to both kids and adults, group and individuals, serving all of Hampton Roads. Summer camps available.

Amazing AthletesPrograms for ages 18mos - 12 years old. Introduces the fundamentals of 10 different sports (soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball, tennis, lacrosse, football, track and field, baseball, and golf) in a non-competitive environment. Single/Multi-Day Camps and Birthday Parties are available.

Community Outreach CoalitionThe Community Outreach Coalition is a nonprofit organization that ministers to low-income youth and children with disabilities through academics, athletics, and the arts. Day Camp at the Y: Activity CentralActivity Central provides campers aged 4-14 with a variety of daily activities and weekly themes keep camp fun and fresh.
Ages 4–5, Kinder Camp, available at three locations, Kinder Camp is for rising kindergartners who are ready for an all day program.
Ages 5–9, Activity Central, available at 17 locations, Campers enjoy active play, creative arts, science, and swimming.
Ages 10–12, Tween Camp, available at 16 locations, Active play, creative arts, science, swimming, and camper’s choice will ensure that tweens will make memories this summer.
Ages 13–14, Teen Camp, Available in Chesapeake, Teens enjoy activities, team building challenges, and service projects in this leadership development camp
Camp Hours: 6:30am–6pm
A typical day:

9am–4pm: Camp Activities

Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country ClubGolf and Tennis instruction and camps for kids ages 7 and up.

Gail Harts Performing Arts AcademyDance Classes ages 2 and up. Pre-Dance, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Liturgical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and Tumbling.
Training available in stage, theater, film acting, and needle work (costuming).

Kojack’s Baseball AcademyKojack's Baseball Academy trains youth of all ages in all baseball skills via individual or group lessons. We are the home for the KBA baseball organization and we rent out space for teams to train in a safe and professional environment.
We offer private lessons, team rentals, spring/fall baseball teams, and summer camps. P.A.L. ProgramsBoxing (UGMMA) - Universal General MMA acknowledge the tough issues children and young adults face, both in and out of school. Our Stand Tall initiative is a program that focuses on building self-esteem. Universal General MMA builds self-esteem through exercise and mentor-ship. children with higher self-esteem are less bullied. Furthermore, mentored students with high self-esteem are less likely to get into a fight.
Law Enforcement Explorer - Law Enforcement Exploring is a hands-on program open to young men and women who have completed the 6th grade through 20 years old, interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system. The program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism.
After School - The Portsmouth Parks & Recreation in partnership with Portsmouth Police Athletic League (PPAL) After School Program is designed to provide Portsmouth’s youth with a safe environment while participating in a wide variety of educational and recreational opportunities.
PAL Summer camp is hosted by the Portsmouth Police Department. Includes Fun Daily Activities, Weekly Field Trips, Lessons on Crime Prevention, Bullying, and more. This camp is only open to Portsmouth residents ages 5-13. -
Portsmouth Art & Cultural CenterRotating visual art exhibits, lectures, classes and performances. First Friday and Saturday Activities are Free and open to the public. Summer Camps available.

STARBASE Summer CampOur voluntary summer camps for Portsmouth Public Schools are offered at no charge to parents with a minimal registration fee. Parents will need to provide transportation to and from camp as well as lunch daily. Totally funded by STARBASE, each summer camp runs for four consecutive days and includes an exciting field trip. Camps are developed as an expansion of the school year program so that students will continue their engagement in STEM education.
