Autism Society Tidewater Virginia (ASTV) is celebrating, over 40 years of non-profit services, education, advocacy, services, and support to children, youth, and adults with autism, their families and friends, and professionals who serve them.  We are a local affiliate of the national Autism Society, founded in 1965.

Therapeutic horseback riding program for individuals who have mental, physical, emotional, social or learning disabling conditions. Summer programs are available for both the therapeutic riding participants and an inclusion camp open to the public. Campers must be able to follow verbal directions, have an interest in learning about horses and horse care, and be toilet trained. Each day campers will receive both mounted riding and ground lessons in order to learn proper horsemanship while having tons of fun! The camp will help to build positive relationships with fellow campers, equines, staff, and counselors.

Families of Autism Coming Together (FACT) offers a variety of programs and services for local children and young adults with autism, and their families. Surfers Healing hosts regular day camps at the beach where autistic children and their families can be exposed to a completely new experience of surfing.

Swimming at the Y helps people thrive—in and out of the water. The mission of the Eliza Hope Foundation is to provide a center that meets the individualized needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays.
