4-H is the youth (ages 5 to 19) development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. 4-H is rich with learning experiences where young people partner with caring adults and volunteers in a fellowship unlike any other program available to youth today. During the summer, 4-H offers a range of day and residential (overnight) camps.

Activities for youth ages 6-18. Education and Career Programs, Health & Life Skills, Character and Leadership Programs, Art Programs, Sports, Fitness and Recreation Programs

The Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs at Fort Eustis include programs for all ages. Programs for children (offered seasonally) include dance, youth sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, cheerleading, fun runs, and robotics. Summer camps available.

Preschool program- Children must be 2, 3, or 4 years old on or before September 30th to be placed in a 2, 3, or 4 year-old-class. The two-year-old program is a co-op program. One parent (or adult designated by parent) will help in the 2s classroom each day.

Riverview Gymnastics Center is home to the Flipateers and Superkids (competitive and show gymnastics teams) and the city dance team.

In addition, this center also hosts a variety of aerobics, dance, martial arts, and children's sports classes offered through the Instructional Classes Program and birthday parties.

Offering weekly Russian language and Art classes for bilingual children ages 1 to 15 as well as Russian as a Foreign Language instruction for those wishing to learn Russian. All classes are taught by native speakers.

Paint Your Own Pottery Studio. Art classes and camps at Starving Artist Studio offer a wide variety of fun artisan projects from wheel throwing, mosaics, glass art, mixed media, clay hand building and more! Ages 4-16. Birthday parties available.

The Newport News Summer Institute for the Arts offers an intensive six-week program in dance, theatre arts, music, and visual arts each summer. The Summer Institute for the Arts is intended for rising 8th grade through rising 12th grade students.

Village Studio Arts is an inclusive art studio with pottery classes, summer camps, home-school art classes, a potter's guild, open-studio hours, and more! Drop-in open studio is every Saturday 9 AM to 12 PM. VSA offers classes for adults, teens, and children.
