Christ the King School was the first Catholic school in the Norfolk area to provide Special Education Services to children with learning disabilities. They continue to expand those services and are now offering enhanced programs for Talented and Gifted students.

The Endependence Center, Incorporated (ECI) is a consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability, non-residential, private, non-profit Center for Independent Living (CIL) operated by and for individuals with disabilities in South Hampton Roads.

Nature-based preschool movement classes, physical therapy and wellness consults.

Held in Virginia Beach, VA and surrounding areas, these nature-based outdoor classes (“Nature Wigglers”) will focus on gross and fine motor movement with a nature or outdoor theme each week. These classes will be geared towards ages 2-6 of all abilities and held at a variety of locations in the region. Siblings under the age of 2 are free to tag along. Please sign up for my email list to hear about future classes. Spots ARE limited and this will be a caregiver and child class. Themes for each class may change depending on weather. Making Waves Speech Therapy provides in-home speech-language services in your home! Serving children of all ages in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Making Waves Speech Therapy specializes in articulation & phonological disorders, expressive-receptive language disorders, augmentative & alternative communication (AAC), neurodiversity-affirming therapy, and dual language learners.

Special Education Advocates meet with parents of students with disabilities to assist them with navigating through the school system to determine an appropriate education program which will meet their child’s needs. The Advocate will provide assistance and education with the Individualized Education Plan, (IEP) or 504 Plan. The goal of Marage Homes is to help parents become self-advocates so that their child(ren) will stay in school and reach their educational goals.

The Mighty Monarchs Visual Impairment Adapted Sports Program is a no cost community-based program for youth 6-18 with visual impairments and their friends.

Held on the campus of ODU, this program offers the opportunity for youth with visual impairments to participate in adapted sports, throughout the school year. The mission of the Mighty Monarchs Adapted Sports Program at ODU is to empower youth with visual impairments to be physically active members of their schools and communities.

A variety of programs are available through Norfolk Parks and Recreation including computers, athletics, art, music and more. Afterschool programs available. Birthday Parties available.

A comprehensive program that gives individuals with disabilities the opportunity to develop functional skills through therapy, acquire leisure skills through leisure education, and enhance leisure lifestyles through recreation participation in the least restrictive environment, based on each individual's needs.

T-ball, Softball, Baseball & Challenger teams

Old Dominion University's Mighty Monarchs Adapted Sports Program allows children with special needs to participate in athletics and is divided into two separate divisions: visual impairment sports, and wheelchair sports. Ages 3-16. Free Program.

Precious Pearls is a Special Needs Childcare Center offering Before/After Care and Full Day Care for children ages 2 - 10years old. The center works with all special needs children including children with Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Behavioral Disabilities and more.

ASL Classes

Pediatric dentistry for children 0-21 years of age and special needs adults. Sedation dentistry provided as well as services in local operating rooms when needed or desired.

In-home ABA therapy and consulting

Dance ages 2 and up: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Mommy & Me and classes for Special Needs
