Academy of Music – Norfolk & Va BeachMusic Lessons - instruction may be available in: Bass, Cello, Drums/Percussion, Fiddling, Flute, Guitar, Harp, Park View Strings, Percussion, Piano, Prezuki, Recorder, Suzuki Strings, Winds, Viola, Violin and Voice.
Band-Together is a pilot program through Academy of Music that provides instrumental music instruction for individuals with and without disabilities on traditional band instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion.) -
Dance DimensionsDance Dimensions offers a wide variety of dance genres and music, which collectively includes students ranging from ages 2 to 82. Virginia Children’s Chorus – NorfolkAn auditioned choir for children ages 6 to 18 in grades 1 through 12. The four choir groups meet during the school year for group choral rehearsals including instruction in sight-reading, rhythms, note reading, diction (including foreign languages), breath support, posture, vocal tone, expression, choral blend, and stage presence.
Rehearsals are held in Norfolk for all four choirs and also in Virginia Beach for the two younger choirs (approx. 1st to 7th grade). The groups perform throughout Hampton Roads in many concerts both solo and with other performing groups, such as The Bay Youth Orchestras. The older students perform with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and the Virginia Arts Festival. Virginia Children's Chorus is a non-profit arts education organization. Voice Studio of David S WarrenApplied (private, individual) instruction in voice for beginning through intermediate (college sophomore music major) level students of all ages - 18 to 80+.
