4-H is the youth (ages 5 to 19) development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. 4-H is rich with learning experiences where young people partner with caring adults and volunteers in a fellowship unlike any other program available to youth today.

Through 4-H, young people are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities that emphasize 4-H's "learning by doing" philosophy of youth development. 4-H is characterized as being community-centered, volunteer-led, Extension-staff supervised, research-based, home- and family-oriented, publicly and privately funded, and responsive to change.

During the summer, 4-H offers a range of day and residential (overnight) camps.

There are unlimited possibilities for club and/or individual member areas of interest:

Academic enrichment program for middle and high school offering math, science, Latin, Spanish, ASL, theology, history, art and English. Formerly Home School Enrichment Program (HSEP), CHA has been serviing Hampton Roads homeschoolers since 1994.

We are a home school group located in Chesapeake, VA! The main goal of our group is for organizing social activities for our homeschoolers and as an opportunity to make new friends!

Our group invites homeschool families of all ages to meet on weekends for mostly outdoor casual play dates. Rotating parks or playgrounds with times will be announced weekly. No RSVP required. All playdates will be in the city of Chesapeake.

Learn how to fly a drone and improve your skills. Pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test to become a recreational drone pilot.  Practice planning and flying Search and Rescue Missions, and other flight activities.  Learn to take pictures and videos with a drone. Have fun building a drone obstacle course and learn to program a drone.

Indoor playground with a toddler area for little ones under 36". Older children's playground is designed for children 37" up to 5ft.

YMCA homeschool enrichment programs include various youth programs, including swimming and sports. Homeschoolers will improve their strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and energy levels.

Weekly child-led adventures at Northwest River Park

Now You're Cooking is a culinary arts studio that welcomes the novice cook as well as the trained culinary professional.
Cooking classes for kids and teens are held daily; please check the schedule for current classes and signups. Private events/parties are available. Spring Break and Summer Camp programs are available. Superhero kitchen classes are available for kids/teens with special needs.

The Creative Arts Center's mission is to help children and adults with anxiety, depression and just plain boredom have fun and escape their worries in a creative and therapeutic way. The center is a safe place to come and create not only art but JOY as well. Summer camps available!

Offering a variety of inclusive outdoor play and exploration experiences to address sensory, social and play issues, while developing children’s sensory and motor systems. Birthday parties available. Now offering academic tutoring!

This is a home school group for families in Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Western Branch! Most of our activities will take place in these areas, with some special events being outside this range (the beach, zoo, farms, etc).

TFC is open to anyone eight years of age or older, and no fencing experience is necessary.

Tidewater Fencing Club also offers daytime classes for home-schooled students.

We're on a mission to equip teenagers with leadership skills and knowledge for a successful transition to adulthood. Our doors are open to all teens, whether from public school, private school, homeschool, or virtual school programs. Our programs empower student members through leadership education, mentorship, hands-on leadership experiences, workshops, conferences, competitive events, and opportunities to build essential skills and self-confidence through community connections.

Triple R Ranch has been a summer camp in Chesapeake, Virginia since 1960 to offer a time-proven and quality summer experience for campers age 7 to 16. Activities include horseback riding, archery, laser tag and more for exciting, new experiences.

USA Ninja Challenge offers classes and programs for all age groups, including 4 to 5-year-olds, 6 to 12-year-olds, and teens. Our curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of a full physical fitness program for today’s youth. We incorporate standard apparatus including rings, balance obstacles, and tumbling surfaces, as well as other specialized ninja training equipment, such as cargo nets, traverse walls, slack lines, ropes, ladders and warp walls. Each portion of every obstacle course also includes corresponding conditioning and flexibility stations. The desired result of this program is to improve children’s strength, flexibility, and all-around athleticism.

Co-op is offered each Friday from 9AM-1PM. Courses are designed to assist the parent in meeting the needs of their children for some of the extras that Homeschool kids often miss. When you’re really working hard to get the math and science into them, occasionally things like PE, art and music take a backseat. The Co-op provides the following courses: PE, Art, Music, Science experiments for the younger kids, and STEM for the older students. There is a Resource Room set up for students in 8th through 12th grades to receive instruction in math and assistance in other subjects.

We are a community of Wild + Free Homeschooling Mamas on the Southside of Hampton Roads. Our goal is to be intentional in curating community with other Mamas and allow our kids to form friendships.
