Helianthus provides compassionate, child-led, in-home ABA services to individuals of all ages in Hampton Roads. We strive to provide the the best individualized services to our clients and their families. We provide a team-based, collaborative approach by frequently communicating with other service providers (speech, OT, teachers, etc) to ensure consistency and progress in all areas.

Although infants and toddlers learn and grow at their own pace, early childhood development often follows predictable patterns. Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye-bye” are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act and move (crawling, walking, etc.) For any number of reasons, many young children need a little extra help to reach certain developmental milestones. And since infants and toddlers grow and learn so quickly, it’s important to get that extra help as early as possible if you or your child’s doctor have any concerns about your child’s development. Early identification and intervention can make a difference! The Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia provides supports and services for infants and toddlers, and their families so that families can help their children learn during everyday activities and routines. These supports take place in the child’s natural environment, such as their home, daycare, or even the local library. If you are concerned about your child’s development, the first step is to contact the Infant & Toddler Connection in your area. They will schedule an intake and evaluation to determine if your child is eligible for services. This is provided at no cost to families. If your child is eligible, we will work with you to identify the goals that you have for your child and what services we will provide to help you help your child reach those goals. This will be outlined in your family’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Developing the plan is also provided at no cost. Your family will be assigned a Service Coordinator, at no cost to you, to help you navigate through the program. It all starts with the initial appointment. Minds In Motion is an occupational therapy practice located in Chesapeake, Virginia -  providing quality care to children and families across the Tidewater area.
