For active duty military families, we run monthly outdoor events such as exploring nature, hiking, rafting, yoga, astronomy, bird watching, nature journaling, surfing, visiting national park sites, and much more. Events are located across Hampton Roads and occasionally beyond. There is no fee. Participants must join the Blue Star Neighborhood and register beforehand for a chance to be selected for any event. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We would love for you to join us!

Camp Horizons is a summer sleep-away camp for campers ages 6-16. We offer a variety of activities such as swimming, archery, drama, arts & crafts, and horseback as well as an Outdoor Adventure Camp and Equestrian Camp.

Charles City, James City, and New Kent 4-H Junior Camp is a week-long, residential summer camp program available primarily to residents of James City County and City of Williamsburg ages 9-13. Camp is held every year at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center in Williamsburg, VA. 4-H camp provides youth countless opportunities to develop responsibility, independence, and life skills in a camp setting while interacting with the natural world around them. Days are filled with camp classes, unstructured recreation and swim time, flag ceremonies, evening programs, and campfires!  At age 14, campers will automatically serve as Counselors-in-Training (CIT) during camp. Please note that the James City County Virginia Cooperative Extension office is in charge of the planning for and processing registration of our week of 4-H Junior Camp for James City/Williamsburg residents. Jamestown 4-H Educational Center is the facility we use during the week for camp programming. Ludus Ferocia is a mixed-weapons fencing club based in Norfolk, VA. Our areas of study are in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and Japanese Sword Arts (JSA). We openly welcome and compete with other weapon-based martial arts systems outside of what we teach. Ludus Ferocia is a sparring-centric school that focuses on the application of historical techniques more-so than just the performance of them.

Adaptive Camp at the YMCA at JT's Camp Grom in Virginia Beach is designed for campers ages 5 to 12 whose physical, social and emotional abilities require additional assistance when participating in camp activities. Adaptive camp is staffed with a 1:3 counselor to camper ratio. Prior to camp, we will meet with parents to plan a fun summer camp experience tailored to each camper’s needs and abilities.
