Generic Theater for Kids acting school for children and teens camps will be located in the Rehearsal rooms of Roadstead Montessori High School located at 112 College Place in Norfolk, between Granby and Bouch St. next to TCC.

Camps meet Monday - Fridays from 9:00am to 3:00pm with after-care available til 5:30pm and free drop off at 8:30am.

MUSICAL THEATER Ages 8 to Teens – 2 weeks - July 10 to 21, 2023 - Musical Play performance at ODU University Theater on July 22

ACTING FOR STAGE Ages 8 to Teens – 2 weeks - July 31 to August 11, 2023 - Play at ODU University Theater on August 12

ACTING FOR TV & MOVIES Ages 9 to Teens – one week - July 24 to 28, 2023 - Videotaped with Professional Equipment

BALLET VIRGINIA’S Musical Theater For Kids/Teens Ages 7 and up!

All students have featured roles in one act musicals.
Singing classes are incorporated with Broadway dance steps.

Acting Classes consist of pantomime, improvisation, interpretation.

The children gain performance skills and confidence in themselves. Our emphasis is on the development of the child.

In one year the Musical Theater Classes at Ballet Virginia presented five musicals:
“Ghostly Raps” (Whenever I Feel Afraid-song)
“The Brementown Rappers” (Who Let the Dogs Out-song)
“Second Banana” original songs and lyrics
“Mabel’s Magic Makeover” (Hair-song)
“Carrie Coppins Returns” (The Rainbow Connection-song)*

Enrollment is open now for students ages 13-18. Camp is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm and culminates in 4 fully produced performances of this musical theatre classic. Students rotate through acting, singing, and dance instruction in the morning and then rehearse show scenes in the afternoon.

All experience levels welcome! Each student is guaranteed a role in the show. Mandatory auditions are June 28 & 29 (students must attend both days).

THEATRE SUMMER CAMP: For two weeks, campers ages 9-12, and 13-18 will engage their imaginations through a collaborative theatrical experience. Our professional theater artists will lead fun-filled activities such as playwriting, character development, improvisation, movement, games, and more! Held at The Governor’s School for the Arts and the historic Wells Theatre, all camps create and present a unique production to perform for friends and family! Come make drama with us!

BACKSPACE: A new kind of summer camp! Campers ages 9-12 will focus on the building blocks of acting and put them all to use to cast, rehearse, and perform Backspace by Lindsay Price.
