The Hampton Roads Chess Association (HRCA) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing the benefits of chess to people of all ages and abilities across our region. Serving youth and adult competitive chess players, schools, the handicapped, the elderly, veterans, and Scouts. Ongoing chess programs, instruction, groups and Summer camps available.
Learn how to how to cut, grind and arrange glass for fusing. Most classes are beginner; however we do offer intermediate and advance level classes or come in with your own design and we will help you create that one-of-a-kind piece. Ages range from 6 to adult depending on project. Our classes that involve scoring and breaking of glass, we ask that children be at least 12 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Our Lil Chips classes are great for ages 6 and up.
Open play area designed for children ages 0-7, combined with a serene cafe setting where parents can relax while children play. Regularly scheduled open play, special events, memberships, and birthday parties. Also available - order ahead and pickup curbside: Lattes, Frappes, Refreshers.
A 69 acre park with the largest children's playground in the City, Kidszone Community Playground (Inclusive Playground), Howard Mast Tennis Complex (10 courts, 4 lighted), parking, a walking loop, a skateboard spot, picnic tables, and benches.
Eleven lakes for freshwater fishing, nature trails, a playground, horse trail for horseback riding, archery range, model airplane flying field, a fishing and crabbing pier and more.
Art classes and workshops for adults and children including Beading, Canvas, Wood, Paint Your Own Pottery and Glassware Painting. Space for Parties from Birthdays to Scouts. Monthly specialty workshops focus on bringing new projects to the studio. Storytimes and Summer Camps available.
