Chesapeake

Great Bridge YMCA – Indoor Pool, Indoor Slide, Outdoor Infant Wading Pool, Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Splash Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Greenbrier Family YMCA – Indoor Pool, Outdoor Infant Wading Pool, Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Splash Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Taylor Bend YMCA – Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Splash Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Western Branch Community Center – Outdoor Splash Park. OPEN for the season.
Day Pass ($5) or Membership required – Free admission to the splash park with community center membership or day pass for individuals 8 and over. Children 7 and under are eligible to use the splash park with a parent or guardian who has a center membership. No more than 3 youth (under 8) permitted per adult (18-plus).

Hampton

Hampton Aquaplex – Indoor 50m & 25m pools and outdoor splash park. Membership or day pass required. 2025 day pass rates TBA depending on age/residency. Outdoor splash park is OPEN for the 2025 Season. 

• May 25 – June 15: Monday – Friday 3 PM – 7 PM |  Saturday and Sunday 11 AM – 7 PM
• June 16 – August 31st: Monday – Thursday  11 AM – 6 PM  |  Friday and Saturday 11 AM – 8 PM  | Sunday 11 AM – 7 PM
• Monday, September 1: 11 AM – 7 PM  (Labor Day Back-to-School Bash 12 PM – 4 PM)
• September 6 – September 21 (Weather Permitting)  Saturday and Sunday 11 AM – 6 PM

Fort Monroe Community Center Indoor Pool – Daily Admission (members): Youth $1, Adult $1.50. Daily Admission (non-members): Youth $3, Adult $3.50. Membership/Monthly passes also available.

Outdoor Neighborhood Pools in Hampton – open seasonally and membership is required. See Information on upcoming Free Community Pool Days Here.

Peninsula Town Center Fountains – open seasonally – currently closed until further notice – no posted update for 2025 – for FREE summer water play for ages 0-12. Located in the Town Square of Peninsula Town Center.

Newport News

Brittingham-Midtown Aquatics Center – Pool with onsite lessons and open family swim sessions. Day Pass (NN Resident) is $3 for Youth/Senior and $4 Adults. Day Pass (Non-Resident) is $5 Youth/Senior and $6 Adults. Children 3 and under are free. Longer length passes are also available for purchase.

Joint Forces Langley-Ft Eustis Aquatic Center (Military/DOD, must have base access)
Indoor water park and pool on Ft Eustis. Daily admission rates: Active Duty $2/Retired & Dependents $3/Others $5. Monthly and longer-term rates also available.
Outdoor Pool: Open for the 2025 Season. Hours are Thu & Fri 1pm-6pm | Sat & Sun 11am-6pm.

Tom & Ann Hunnicutt Family YMCA – Indoor pool and Spray Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. 

Norfolk

Kroc Center Hampton Roads – Kroc Center Aquatics Center is an indoor pool that includes Lap lanes, a lazy river, two-story water slide and splash zone. Included in membership. Norfolk Botanical Garden – WOW Children’s Garden

Norfolk Botanical Garden–  Fountains are BACK ON! – Check for updates here. Located within the WOW Children’s Garden the fountains come on seasonally for summertime water play. Free with Garden admission. Shoes are required.

Norfolk Parks & Recreation Indoor & Outdoor Pools – some of the locations with special water features are already listed here but this link brings you to where you can find all parks & rec pool locations!

Norview Splash Pad–  Free & Open to the public at Norview Community Center – 6380 Sewells Point Road, Norfolk VA. Operates seasonally. No 2025 update has been posted.

Shoop Park Splash Pad – (Open seasonally June – August): Monday-Sunday, 10 am – 8 pm. Free and open to the public on a seasonal basis.

Southside Aquatics Center Indoor Swimming Pool – Indoor pool with diving board, twisty tube slide, zero depth recreation and instruction area with play structures. Membership required.

TowneBank Fountain Park/Waterside– Interactive water fountain entertains visitors with daily performances of 28 water jets shooting water up to 12 ft into the air and enhancing its nighttime performances with illumination. Open seasonally – no posted dates/update for 2025.

Virgina Zoo– water fountains (including Fountain Plaza) are turned on seasonally for water play – the fountains are turned on for the 2025 season! Water fountain play is Free with paid Zoo admission. Fountain Plaza is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Fountains will be turned off during inclement weather. Call to confirm.

YMCA on Granby – Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Water Slides. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Portsmouth 

Cavalier Manor Outdoor Pool – $1 admission. Glass containers, food and drinks (bottled water excluded) are not permitted. Large groups are encouraged to call ahead due to limited capacity. Proper swimming attire required. Open Memorial Day – Labor Day: Tuesday – Sunday 1pm- 4pm

Effingham Street YMCA – Outdoor Infant Wading Pool, Outdoor Pool. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Norfolk Naval Shipyard (Military/DOD, must have base access)
Splash Zone Aquatics Center has an outdoor swimming pool and splash pad located at Scott Center Annex across from The Navy Exchange in Portsmouth. The pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day each. Hours of operation are based on lifeguard availability. Posted 2025 schedule: Memorial Day to June 10: Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 6 PM | June 10 until Labor Day: Tuesday through Sunday, 11 AM to 6 PM.

Suffolk

Cypress Park Pool – Open for the 2025 season. Located at 2001 Arizona Avenue, will offer open swim hours. June 17-August 24th, open Tuesdays through Sundays (closed Mondays) from 2-6pm. August 30-31 TBA. Cypress Park Pool also offers swimming lessons for youth ages 5-17, group swim times, and party rentals by pre-paid reservations.

Suffolk Family YMCA – Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Splash Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Virginia Beach

Bow Creek Recreation Center– Indoor pool with zero depth entry, lap lanes, deep water area with slide and a children’s area with slide and play features. Must be a member or purchase a day pass.

Joint Forces Little Creek-Fort Story’s Gator Water Park (Military/DOD, must have base access) – Open May 26 through September 1. Tuesday – Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. Water park open to military on the JEB Little Creek-Fort Story Base. Daily admission rates: $10 daily visit – for active duty, retirees, Reservists and eligible family members. $12 daily visit – for DoD and guests. Guests are limited to two per eligible sponsor. Single Sailors, E-1 to E-6 active duty military admitted are free. Children ages two and younger are free.

Kempsville Recreation Center – Indoor pool with zero-depth entry, six 25-meter lap lanes, two 1-meter diving boards, aqua track, leisure pool and water play components. Must be a member or purchase a day pass.

Larkspur Swim & Racquet Club – Outdoor pool (summer membership required) open to all neighborhoods. Open swim and Swim team available. Open for members.

Mount Trashmore YMCA – Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, Outdoor Splash Park, and an Infant Wading Pool. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Ocean Breeze Water Park– an extensive world of water fun with play areas for the little ones and wave pools, slides and other attractions for the adults and older kids. Open for the 2025 season. Paid admission. Season passes available. 2025 Weekday Admission $36.99 – $42.99 | Weekend Admission $46.99 – $52.99 | ages 2 and under are free. Military and senior discounts are available. Late admission discounts after 4pm may be available. Check for current discounts here!

Oceana’s Aeropalms Water Park (Military/DOD, must have base access) – Water park open to military on the Oceana Naval Air Station Base. Weekends only Memorial Day – June 15th. 11am to 5pm. Starting June 16 – Labor Day, open Wednesday through Monday 11am to 5pm. Closed Tuesdays. Daily entry is $9 for active duty, Reservists, dependents, and retirees and $11 for DoD civilians and guests. Season passes are also available.

Princess Anne Family YMCA – Indoor Pool, Indoor Splash Park. Membership or Guest Pass required. Local residents who are not members may access the Y by using a day pass up to three times per year at a cost of $10/visit. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Simon Family JCC – Indoor pools are open year round. Outdoor pool is now Open for Summer 2025 through – September 1, 2025. Indoor and outdoor pools. Outdoor water park, Indoor lap pool, therapy pool and children’s pool. Swim lessons are available. Membership or guest pass is required. Guest passes are open to all, current pricing here.

Virginia Beach Parks & Rec Pools – in addition to the water playgrounds at Bow Creek, Kempsville, and Williams Park, the other recreation centers have pools that give lessons and have open swim sessions. Must be a member or purchase a day pass.

Williams Park Sprayground and Indoor Water Playground– A water play area (sprayground outdoors, water slides/play indoors) located at the Williams Park Recreation Center. Must be a member or purchase a day pass. Open for the 2025 Season. Regular 2025 schedule will be: Mon-Fri 12-7:30pm | Saturdays 9am-4:30pm | Sundays 11am-4:30pm.

YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom – YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom offers: Adaptive Swim Lessons, Family Days, Youth Sports and more. YMCA outdoor pools are OPEN for the 2025 season!

Williamsburg
