2nd Saturday Family Events at Hampton History Museum
Every second Saturday enjoy themed family crafts and games including Time Travel to the 1960’s, My Little Pony and Games throughout History. Free.
Storytelling the Park
Fridays, June 19-July 31, 10:30 a.m., Bluebird Gap Farm. Comedy magic acts, hip hop storytelling and hysterically correct pirates are sure to make this series a Friday morning staple where families can also enjoy the playground and the farm animals. Free.
Read to the Rhythm: Summer Reading ActivitiesÂ
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, June 19-July 31. Six weeks of special performances to encourage reading and learning. Free. Register by June 19 at your local Hampton library.
Slide the City
Saturday, June 20, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., downtown Hampton. Join other revelers on the 1000 ft. water slide on the Booker T. Washington bridge on Settler’s Landing Road. Mill Point Park will have a children’s activity area and food vendors. When you’re finished sliding stay for the Block Party from 6-11 p.m. $45/day of registration. Register before June 19 for discounts.Â
Tuesday Family Movie SeriesÂ
Tuesdays, June 23-Aug. 4, 7 p.m., Mill Point Park. Bring your family, folding chairs and blankets for free movies in the park including The Penguins of Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Maleficent. Free.
Afrikan American Festival
Friday, June 26-Sunday, June 28. The Afrikan American Festival enjoy an outdoor, family-oriented event that includes nonstop entertainment, food, and over 70 vendors.
