Outdoor Family Movie NIGHT in Hampton Roads VA

There are normally quite a few outdoor movies events during the summer, but COVID-19 has caused lots of cancelations in Summer 2020! These are the Outdoor Movie nights we know are still listed as happening. Please check links for the most recent updates and don't forget your masks!

2020 Movie & More Summer Movie Series- All shows are canceled.


Looking for a fun and safe activity for Halloween night? Look no further! As part of our annual Boozlefest,  we will be doing an outdoor showing of HOCUS POCUS. There is plenty of space on the lawn to social distance, so bring your lawn chairs/blankets and enjoy the movie on a 15.5 FT screen! ADMISSION IS FREE!!

Parking/Admission $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Gates open at 6:30pm for advance ticket holders, 7pm for general admission, show begins at 7:30pm. Concessions available.

Hank's Free Movie Night: The Goonies (1985)
Join us in the backyard for this week's free movie: The Goonies. A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate's long-lost treasure.

Outdoor Movie Night at the Chrysler Museum
Enjoy a family tale of magic and adventure as Miguel, a musician, embarks on a quest to learn about his ancestors in Pixar's Coco. Family and tradition anchor his journey through the Land of the Dead. The heartfelt film showcases themes of ritual, celebration, play, and love that we highlight in Come Together, Right NowFree. Registration is required. Tickets must be reserved in advance.

NAVSTA Norfolk - Trick or Treat Drive Thru & Movie
NAVSTA Norfolk MWR and NEX are hosting a Trick or Treat & Drive-In Movie on Friday, October 30. Join us for a creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky good time at Main Gate Movies parking lot (across from NEX Norfolk). Drive-In Trick-or-Treat starts at 5:30 p.m. and the Drive-In Movie showing of The Addams Family (2019) begins at 6:45 p.m. Registration is required. Must present valid ID with confirmation email to enter. Limited space available! COVID safety protocols observed. The first 50 patrons will receive a free pumpkin drawstring bag! Halloween Movie Madness at Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion (Portsmouth)

Looking for fun outdoor activities? Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion invites the entire family to “Halloween Movie Madness,” on Saturday nights in October. The Pavilion is the perfect backdrop for these four FREE movie events. Gates open at 6 p.m., and movies start at 7 p.m. under the stars at the Pavilion. Open seating is unreserved and will be set up to comply with social distancing safety requirements.

Films for this series are lovable Halloween stories the entire family will enjoy. All four movies are FREE and open to the public. Parking is FREE in all City of Portsmouth garages and lots.

Halloween Movie Madness Schedule:

  • Saturday, Oct. 17 – HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA (PG)
  • Saturday, Oct. 24 – THE ADDAMS FAMILY (2019) (PG)

Guests are encouraged to dress in costume. For this event, to limit person to person contact, guests will be permitted to bring their own food and beverages limited to non-alcoholic beverages in plastic bottles no larger than 20 ounces.


Military - Movie Night Free Family Drive-in (Portsmouth) 
Lot opens at 5:30pm and Movie starts at 6:45pm. Don't forget to bring a FM radio if you'd like to sit outside of your vehicle. Concessions will be available for purchase. Sorry, no pets, smoking or alcohol.

Carpool Cinema In Suffolk

October 17, 2020 - Hocus Pocus
Free and open to the public. Bennett’s Creek Park will transform into a Carpool Cinema. Bring your family and stay safely inside your car to view the movie Hocus Pocus (1993). This movie is rated PG. Citizens are encouraged to bring their own food and enjoy the movie from their car. Pets are welcomed and must be on a leash. The park will open at 6 PM for parking and the movie will start at approximately 7 PM. Bennett’s Creek Park is located at 3000 Bennett’s Creek Park Road. The park will be closed from 5 – 6 PM to prepare for the event.

October 24, 2020 - The Sorcerer's Stone
Free and open to the public. The Parking Lots behind the Godwin Court house will transform into a Carpool Cinema. Bring your family and enjoy the movie from your car. Two 40-Foot tall screens will show Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). This film is rated PG. Citizens are encouraged to park behind the Godwin Courthouse or in the Public Parking Lot on N. Commerce Street. The Godwin Courthouse is located at 150 N. Main Street. Check out the local shops and restaurants, and then enjoy the movie from your car. The movie will begin at approximately 7:00 PM. Pets are welcomed and must be on a leash. The parking lots will be partially closed from 1 – 6 PM on Saturday, October 24 to prepare for the event.

Date: Friday, October 30, 2020 Trunk or Treat 5:30-6:30pm Movie 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: $6 per person (one person with a disability gets one chaperone free) Activity: Trunk or Treating and a Movie! Concessions will be available for purchase and masks will be required for trunk or treating but can be removed once in designated space for the movie.

Activity: Join us for a family-friendly movie starring everyone’s favorite big blue furry monster and his one-eyed partner in crime. The donation of a canned good or boxed food item is appreciated for entry in the spirit of trick or treat so others can eat. Plus, all kids will receive a bag of sweet treats!! We are excited to host this fun and safe event!
Military - Little Creek Drive In Movies (Virginia Beach)
Join JEB Little Creek MWR for a Drive-In Movie Night at Eagle Haven Golf Course Driving Range. Space is limited to 25 vehicles. Gates will open at 7 p.m. Online registration is required for all Drive-In Movie Nights.
