Symphony Under The Stars

The Virginia Symphony is celebrating the end of summer with FREE outdoor performances on Labor Day Weekend with Conductor Adam Turner, don’t forget your chairs/blankets!

Program for all venues:
– John Williams: Main Title from “Star Wars”
– Harold Arlen/Sayre: Selections from “The Wizard of Oz”
– Ravel: The Fairy Garden from “Mother Goose Suite”
– Howard Shore/Brubaker: Suite from “The Lord of the Rings—The Two Towers”
– Wagner: Ride of the Valkyries
– John Powell/O’Loughlin: How to Train Your Dragon
– Various/Ford: Suite from “Video Games Live”
– John Williams: Flight to Neverland from “Hook”
– Stravinsky: Berceuse and Finale “Firebird Suite”
– John Williams: Harry’s Wonderous World from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”

 

Chesapeake

  • When: Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 6-9pm. Concessions open at 6pm, concert begins at 7:30pm
  • Where: Chesapeake City Park 900 City Park Drive Chesapeake VA
  • Cost: FREE admission, FREE parking
  • Description: Enjoy classic, pop and jazz music live from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra on the Bagley Stage! A variety of food trucks will be available for an evening picnic. Bring your own chairs or blanket. (Pop-up tents not permitted.)

Yorktown

  • When: Saturday, September 3, 2022, concert begins at 7:30pm (Rain date: September 7)
  • Where: Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown VA
  • Description: The 24th annual outdoor concert under the stars. Visitors are encouraged to pack picnics, bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating, and arrive early for this spectacular night of music. The award-winning Fifes and Drums of York Town take the stage at 6 p.m. for a festive performance, and blue ribbons will be awarded to the most creative picnic set-ups prior to the event.
