Virginia Symphony Under The Stars (Free Concerts!)

The Virginia Symphony closes out the summer with FREE outdoor performances around Hampton Roads. Bring chairs or a blanket, and get there early, because these fill up.

Every concert below is free and open to the public. This season’s program is Musical Mosaic.

WILLIAMSBURG

• When: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
• Where: Lake Matoaka Amphitheatre, Williamsburg
• Cost: Free

YORKTOWN

• When: Saturday, September 5, 2026. The Fifes & Drums of York Town open the evening at 6:00pm and the orchestra begins at 7:30pm.
• Where: Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown
• Cost: Free. Details here.

CHESAPEAKE

• When: Sunday, September 6, 2026. Parking and concessions open at 6:30pm and the concert begins at 7:30pm.
• Where: Chesapeake City Park, 900 City Park Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Bagley Stage)
• Cost: Free admission and free on-site parking. Details here.
• Good to know: Food trucks are on site for an evening picnic. Bring your own chairs or a blanket. Pop-up tents and oversized umbrellas are not permitted.

PORTSMOUTH

• When: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 7:30pm
• Where: Portsmouth Pavilion
• Cost: Free
