Pirates Pack The Park!

Calling all Pirates! Save the date for this event and help set a new Pirate record!

The Mariners’ Museum will be attempting to break the Guiness World Record for “Largest Gathering of Pirates!” during their 1st ever Pirate Festival!

The current record is a gathering of 14,231 pirates…. so there will be a LOT of pirates needed to make this happen (and just imagine the fun pictures from this event!).

Where: The Mariners’ Museum Park 100 Museum Dr, Newport News, VA 23601

When: September 21, 2013, 10am-5pm with the official pirate count taking place at 2pm.

Cost: Free admission to the Festival. Mariners’ Museum admission will be $5 for the day (ages 5 and below are Free). Some children’s activities may have a small fee.

What You Must Wear To Be Counted As A Pirate:

  • Pirate Pants or Wench skirt
  • White or Striped Shirt
  • Pirate Hat or Bandana
  • Accessory Item such as an eye patch, gold jewelry, compass, telescope, Jolly Roger flag, toy sword, parrot, etc. (Real weapons will not be permitted through the festival gates.)
