Just as Looney Tunes introduced a generation to loving classical music, “When Instruments Roamed the Earth!®” takes a new generation on a hilarious journey to love the people, the sound & the experience of the symphony orchestra. Enjoy an all-original music with narration in a compelling multimedia presentation.  Pre-concert activities start at 2pm.

Charms, Potions and Musical Notions! Hop on the Hogwarts Express and visit The Virginia Symphony Orchestra School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Designed for all the young witches and wizards who haven’t received their Hogwarts acceptance letters yet, the Hogwarts Hullabaloo showcases all that the wizarding world has to offer, complete with some Weasley magical mischief in store!  Pre-concert activities start at 2pm.

Santa Claus is stopping by to be a part of the VSO’s ever-popular Jingle Bell Jam! Celebrate the magic of the season with an afternoon that showcases the music of the holidays with the best talent in Hampton Roads. Get your tickets early – this family favorite is sure to sell out! Discover the amazing story behind one of America’s most famous symphonies—written by a Czech composer! Antonín Dvořák was inspired by African American spirituals, Native American music, and Longfellow’s poem The Song of Hiawatha. Find out how he combined these influences with the musical traditions of his homeland to create this beloved masterpiece. Pre-concert activities start at 2pm.
