Military Summer Reading Programs

Summer Reading Programs are starting soon at your local Military Libraries!

Summer Reading 2023 at DoD-MWR libraries are following the theme Find Your Voice.

These programs are open to Military and DOD dependents.
Bateman Library on Langley Air Force Base will run the Summer Reading Program from June 27 – August 11, 2023.
  • Call the library at (757) 764-2906 or visit their Website for more information and to sign up.
Groninger Library on Fort Eustis will run the Summer Reading Program from June 25 – August 5, 2023.
JEB Little Creek Library & Fort Story Library will run their Summer Reading Program together from June 5 – July 31, 2023.
  • Call the Little Creek Library at (757) 462-7691 or visit their Website for more information and to sign up.
NAS Oceana Library will run its Summer Reading Program together from June 19 – August 14, 2023.
  • Call the 757-433-2981 or visit their Beanstack for more information and to sign up.
Not near a base library?
If you are not near a base library, you can participate in the DoD-MWR Virtual Summer Reading Program. This online program is designed for Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty kids & teens who live far from military bases and runs from May 29 – September 4, 2023.
