Description: Don’t miss the Operation Sergeant Santa event, held at Joint Base Langley Eustis in Newport News, Virginia!

This base has been home to the US Army Transportation Corps. since 1942, with over 20 miles of railroad tracks and many railcars and locomotives brought in to train members of the Army, Airforce, Navy, and Marines on how to operate these mighty machines. Although Active Duty Army Rail ended in 1972, the base still receives rail traffic through the United States Military Railroad. In 2021 the event returned for the first time in 49 years. The combined efforts of the Command at Joint Base Langley Eustis, The Military Railroad Society, as well as donations for car moves from CSX and a generous donation from Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, we were able to give free rides in 2021.

This 1 hour ride around Fort Eustis will also include wonderful entertainment before boarding. Follow parking and event signs (Entrance Located at Matthew Jones House Historical Marker) Please present tickets upon entry. Sgt. Santa has also made plans to visit us again this year as well.
