22nd Annual Umoja Festival!

The annual Umoja Festival in Portsmouth celebrates African-American heritage and unity. Come out to experience a taste of the art, entertainment, music, and food of Africa.

This is a family friendly festival and there will be a Kids Corner featuring storytelling, bounce house inflatables, a youth fitness challenge, coloring contests, games and crafts with origins in several African countries and more.

All activities at the Umoja Festival are FREE and open to the public with the exception of the Saturday evening performance by musical talent Fantasia.

The festival will take place Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion 16 Crawford Circle, Portsmouth, VA 23704.

Hours will be Friday 5:30 – 11pm, Saturday 11am – 7:30pm with Fantasia then taking the stage at 7:30, and Sunday 12-7pm.
