Description: Attendees will explore the many ways music makes us feel and helps us understand our emotions during a one-hour chamber music performance.
The musicians will speak about how each piece inspires them, while board-certified music therapists from Tidewater Music Therapy assist participants in activities to engage their own emotions and creativity.
The program includes string and wind chamber pieces by well-known composers Ludwig Van Beethoven, Antonin Dvorak, Florence Price, and Giacomo Puccini.
Anyone entering the building must comply with current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, federal and state government, and Christopher Newport University.
- All attendees will have their temperature checked through a wrist reading machine before they enter the building.
- Any person exhibiting a fever above 100.4 or who is symptomatic will not be permitted inside the building.
- All attendees of the performance must wear face masks fully covering their mouth and nose from the time they enter the building to the time they leave, with the exception of children under 2. Face shields may not be worn without a mask.
- All attendees must remain socially distanced from other parties a minimum of 6 feet while inside the building and on campus. Socially distanced seating will be assigned prior to the performance via email. That email will serve as your ticket for the event (you may print it out or simply show it on your mobile device). There will also be additional seats available for those that may need to move during the performance.
