VSO Open Doors: Sensory-Friendly Performance

Tidewater Music Therapy and Virginia Symphony Orchestra

Where: Virginia Arts Festival Bank Street Stage, Norfolk VA

When: Saturday, June 12, 2021. The doors open at 1pm, the concert is from 2-3pm.

Description: Join us as we put melodies in motion! Familiar tunes will be performed by a VSO string ensemble, while participants are led through fun and engaging movements including dancing, moving with scarves, and playing small handheld instruments. Board-certified music therapists from Tidewater Music Therapy will lead a fun, interactive, hour-long program for individuals of all ages and abilities.

About the Venue: Virginia Arts Festival’s new flexible performance venue. Located at the corner of Bank Street and East Charlotte Street in Norfolk, the outdoor venue can accommodate live performances and events and meet COVID-19 restrictions, including social-distanced seating. Patrons can expect to see performances of all kinds in the new tent space.
