Preservation Virginia History Homeschool Days

Preservation Virginia has added great opportunities for Summer Learning this year!

Where: Various historical locations throughout Virginia – Bacon’s Castle, Smith’s Fort, John Marshall House, Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown, and Cape Henry Lighthouse

When: Selected dates June 13 – August 19, 2022 from 10am-4pm

Cost: $5 per visit

Description: Take your homeschool group on the road this summer with Preservation Virginia’s 100 miles of history! Visit all 5 of our historic sites on given weekdays for a discounted admission of $5/person ages 6 and up. Join us for a guided tour, chances to ask lots of questions about Virginia history, complete tour scavenger hunts or activity sheets, and explore our beautiful properties.

  • Monday, June 13 – Bacon’s Castle (11am, 1pm, 3pm)
  • Monday, June 27 – Smith’s Fort
  • Wednesday, June 29 – John Marshall House (11am-2pm)
  • Friday, July 8 – Cape Henry Lighthouse (lighthouse climbers MUST be 42″ tall)
  • Friday, July 15 – Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown
  • Monday, July 18 – Bacon’s Castle (11am, 1pm, 3pm)
  • Wednesday, July 27 – John Marshall House (11am-2pm)
  • Monday, August 1 – Smith’s Fort
  • Friday, August 12 – Cape Henry Lighthouse (lighthouse climbers MUST be 42″ tall)
  • Friday, August 19 — Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown
