When: Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10am-3pm

Description:  On Saturday, March 25th, the Military Aviation Museum will be celebrating National Rosie the Riveter Day with activities for the whole family. Learn how to tie-on Rosie’s famous red bandana and roll up your sleeves, as two of the museum’s aircraft mechanics, Nicole and Scotty, will offer hands-on riveting demonstrations. There will be a special docent tour to learn about the planes that Rosies helped build and the factories that produced them.

Slover Library will be presenting the books Rosie Revere, Engineer, Willow Discovers Welding and Rosie: Stronger than Steel. WWII Living Historians will demonstrate 1940’s hairstyles such as the “Victory Roll” and how to tie that famous bandana. There will also be Victory Garden activities, a coloring station, and button making, along with a memorial tree dedication for Doris Baker, who portrayed Rosie the Riveter as a volunteer at the museum.
