2024 ODU MathFest Scavenger Hunt

Math Fest Scavenger Hunt Passport

A FREE Math Event for kids in 3rd-8th grades in Hampton Roads! The ODU MathFest is organizing its fourth Math is Everywhere Scavenger Hunt across the entire Hampton Roads area. Overall pre-registration is not required, but different locations require pre-purchased tickets.

Where: Students will receive a unique math activity at each location.

  • Chrysler Museum of Art (Norfolk)

  • Mariners’ Museum and Park (Newport News)
    • Where to Find the MathFest Activity: Ask for a MathFest activity at the front desk.
  • Nauticus & The Battleship Wisconsin (Norfolk)
    • Where to Find the MathFest Activity:Ask for a MathFest activity at the Ward Room of the Battleship Wisconsin.
  • Virginia Living Museum (Newport News)
    • Where to Find the MathFest Activity: Ask for a MathFest activity at the front desk.
  • Virginia Zoo (Norfolk)
    • Where to Find the MathFest Activity: Ask for a MathFest Activity at the ticket window.
  • Richard A Tucker Memorial Library (Norfolk)
    • Where to Find the MathFest Activity: In the Children’s Section.
  • Virginia Beach Public Libraries (Virginia Beach)

  • Chesapeake Public Library (Chesapeake) – all branches

  • Cradock Branch of the Portsmouth Public Library

When:  June 15 through August 18, 2024

Cost: Free. While the activity materials are free, participants should be prepared to pay admission at each location and abide by all rules and regulations the facilities have set forth.

Description: At each participating organization, students and their parents receive an activity sheet with math-focused challenges that are aligned with the organization’s mission. In addition to the activity, students earn one entry into our tablet giveaway for each location they visit.
