Reminder: Military Families – Special Education in Virginia

Local (or soon to be local) military families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), or who have a child with special needs, don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the special education services and supports that are available in the state of Virginia specifically.

The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center is a great resource for families with special needs in Virginia. and they will be hosting a virtual/online training for military families on August 24, 2024 from 9am – 3pm. Topics will include:

  • The differences between 504 Plans and IEPs
  • Understanding the parts of the IEP
  • Addressing challenging behaviors through the IEP
  • Special education dispute resolution options
