Introducing Preschool Music for the Beary Young!

Posting to let those of you with littles ones on the Peninsula know about a new Musical resource!

Preschool Music for the “Bear-y” Young is a 20-week class for ages 3-7 that follows a different fun filled theme each week. Themes include Balloon Bears, Trip to the Zoo, Space, and more. Each week the songs, poems, Imaginary Journeys and worksheets reflect the weekly theme for lots of creative fun. This program has been successfully taught for over 18 years but is NEW to Hampton Roads!
The goals of the program are:
  • To help to instill in young children a LOVE OF MUSIC through various methods, in a classroom setting.
  • To help to enhance the musical abilities of young children.
  • To endeavour to reinforce and develop the child’s natural beat, to help establish a strong sense of rhythm in the child, and to strive to train the child to match a given pitch, thus helping to prepare the child for private lessons in the future.
  • To strive to maintain a happy, positive atmosphere in the classroom throughout each class.
To kick off the class session beginning January 2012 local instructor Susan Cusher is providing FREE community “Meet & Sing” classes in Newport News on the following dates:
Thursday, November 10: 10am and 5pm
Saturday, November 12: 10am
Tuesday, November 15: 5pm
Saturday, November 19: 10am
Tuesday, November 29: 10am and 5pm
Saturday, December 3: 10am
You are officially invited to come to one (or more!) of the “Meet & Sing” classes to try it out and make sure it is a good fit for your child!

Preschool Music for the “Bear-y” Young is also scheduling private “Meet & Sing” classes for groups that have a minimum of 5 children looking to participate but who may not find the public dates/times convenient.
