Fall is the perfect time for a family trip up into the trees at The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium! The best part? There are climbing and zip-lining adventures for kids as young as 5, so the entire family can go together! If The Adventure Park is a new experience for your family, get ready to explore their network of tree-top bridges, swings, and zip lines in the maritime forest between the Aquarium’s South Building and Bay & Ocean Pavilion.

Groups of these bridges or “elements” link together to form separate trails through the trees. Each trail has at least two zip lines with challenge levels suitable for every age and skill level–from beginner to expert. Each person selects the trail(s) they want and climb at their own pace.

In addition to ticketed climbing sessions, the Adventure Park at The Virginia Aquarium offers great events and promotions for your active family, including:

Birthday parties – Whether it’s your 8-year-old, your hard-to-please teen and their pack of friends, or your partner, who loves to get outdoors, a birthday in the trees leaves a lasting impression on everyone.

Glow in the Park – At Glow in the Park Virginia Beach, you can experience your favorite ziplines and climb from tree-to-tree on high ropes covered in fairy lights and multi-colored LED lights. We’ve transformed our outdoor aerial adventure park into a land of dreams with our nighttime-themed events. You can now zipline through the trees and climb our ropes courses with LED lights plus fairy lights to give it an extra magical glow. To top it off, we’ll blast the fantastic music to complete the fun!
