8th Annual NEON Festival in Norfolk

2023 NEON Festival in Norfolk VA

The annual NEON Festival is a FREE celebration of the local art scene with great exhibits and events in downtown Norfolk!

Where: Downtown Norfolk, VA

When: Thursday and Friday, October 19 – 20, 2023 from 6-10pm. RAIN OR SHINE

Cost: Free and open to the public. Parking is available at the Harrison Opera House parking lot, at the Chrysler Museum of Art and on the street through the district. There are also numerous nearby parking garages in Downtown Norfolk

Description: Presented by Arts Alliance and Old Dominion University, this free festival welcomes everyone to experience the NEON District through art exhibitions, local and national performances, mural tours and programming unique to Norfolk’s first arts neighborhood.

Anchored by the Chrysler Museum of Art and Harrison Opera House and extending to The Plot on Granby Street, the NEON District includes many creative small businesses and arts partners that contribute to the festivities.

The 2023 celebration includes:
* The Chrysler Museum of Art open late Thursday
* Glass After Dark at the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio
* Dynamic Opening Reception at d’Art Center Friday
* Live music and curated photography exhibition by the Night Shift Collective at Commune NFK
* The Plot Beer Garden and entertainment Friday evening
* 1 big mural unveiling at Brambleton & Granby
* NEON District Public Art Tours both nights with Norfolk Tour Company
* Foster Beauty X NEON Festival Fashion Show at Harrison Opera House Friday
* Diner en Coleur and interactive art exhibition at Cofer Lot with Tidewater Burners and 757 Makerspace
* Pop up art galleries in local businesses
* Community programming from The Governor’s School for the Arts, Teens With a Purpose, Push Comedy Theater, Hurrah Players and many more!
