The Strawberry Festival was one of the first local festivals I attended in Hampton Roads, even before we were officially living in the area. If you haven't been, it is worth the trip!
On-site at the festival you will find food (much of it strawberry themed!), lots of great local vendors, and tons of family-friendly fun. Clowns, carnival rides, livestock, music, fire truck water demonstrations, dog show, a pie eating contest, pig racing, pony rides, and of course the Parade. The full schedule of events is here: Pungo Strawberry Festival.
When: Carnival rides will be open on Friday, May 27th from 5-10pm. The Festival runs both Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29, 2016 starting at 9am. The Parade will start at 10am on the morning of Saturday May 28th. There are no pets allowed at the Festival.
Where: You can find the Pungo Strawberry Festival at 1776 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
Cost: Parking is $10 and admission to the festival itself is FREE.
Make sure you leave yourself time for parking and for the traffic that can happen with such a popular event.
