The Agape School of the Virginia Peninsula is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year. We are a new school launching with Kindergarten, First, and Second grade. Although new to the area, we are part of a network that has helped establish, train, and build 20+ sustainable schools across the country. We plan to add one grade level annually focusing on healthy growth that will determine our future grade levels. Located in Denbigh United Presbyterian Church (302 Denbigh Boulevard), we offer hands-on learning, classes sizes of 14 or fewer, strong relationships with peers, teachers, and the community, and an intentionally low-tech environment (wisely incorporating STEAM). We welcome all families seeking a space where students are mentally, spiritually, and intellectually equipped to better the local and global community. Our sliding scale model makes this educational experience accessible to families of all incomes.

A fun, intensive 1 week classical summer chamber music workshop for violin, viola, and cello players who are intermediate, and advanced level. Students must have at least 1 year of playing experience and read music. Audition is required.

Dance instruction to young people ages 3-adult.

About MEESA Maritime Engineering and Environmental Studies Academy (MEESA) is a college partnership lab school between Newport News Public Schools and Old Dominion University, designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in the maritime industry through hands-on, experiential learning. By blending STEM disciplines with Career and Technical Education, MEESA creates an engaging, real-world learning environment where students explore both traditional and emerging maritime pathways. Through strong partnerships with industry and higher education, students gain access to internships, job shadowing, and authentic learning experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. With a focus on innovation, environmental stewardship, and workforce readiness, MEESA equips students with the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional experiences needed to succeed in college and thrive in maritime careers. The Newport News Summer Institute for the Arts offers an intensive six-week program in dance, theatre arts, music, and visual arts each summer. The Summer Institute for the Arts is intended for rising 8th grade through rising 12th grade students.

THRIVE Peninsula (Denbigh United Christian Outreach - DUCO est. 1973) serves Virginia Peninsula individuals and families facing economic hardship.

TNBA is a basketball family that focuses on mentoring aspiring basketball student-athletes and guiding them to acheive their goals of reaching the next level on and off the court. We have 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grade AAU teams. 9th and 11th Travel out of state.

We train and mentor aspiring basketball players ages 6 through adult. We offer Skill clinics, small group training, and 1 on 1 Training.

Twin Pin Bowling Center is a six-lane facility that is available for private command rental and birthday parties. Twin Pin also has bumpers on all lanes, three large projection screens, a snack bar, and a cosmic light show. The center is open to active duty, veterans, DoW employees, and civilians with base access.

Uniquely Independent LLC is an occupational therapy clinic that serves children to adults and focuses on independent living skills. Underyling skills such as fine motor, executive functioning, regulation (sensory and emotional), etc will be worked on.
