Special Education Advocates meet with parents of students with disabilities to assist them with navigating through the school system to determine an appropriate education program which will meet their child’s needs. The Advocate will provide assistance and education with the Individualized Education Plan, (IEP) or 504 Plan. The goal of Marage Homes is to help parents become self-advocates so that their child(ren) will stay in school and reach their educational goals.

The Torggler offers art classes for adults and youths, year-round. During the school year, classes for youths are typically offered on Saturdays. The Torggler offers four seasons of changing classes. This summer your child can discover the fascinating world of microbiology at our Summer Microbiology Camp for students in grades 4-6!
Held at Old Dominion University, this hands-on camp teaches students to use microscopes, grow bacterial cultures, and identify unknown microbes. Campers will explore industrial applications by using microbes to make sauerkraut and other food products. They will also develop social skills as they work with other children to investigate a bacterial outbreak.
While on campus they will have opportunities to experience campus life by visiting the university dining hall, touring campus, and engaging with professors in weekly research symposiums.

The Mighty Monarchs Visual Impairment Adapted Sports Program is a no cost community-based program for youth 6-18 with visual impairments and their friends.
Held on the campus of ODU, this program offers the opportunity for youth with visual impairments to participate in adapted sports, throughout the school year. The mission of the Mighty Monarchs Adapted Sports Program at ODU is to empower youth with visual impairments to be physically active members of their schools and communities.

The Military Aviation Museum, located at the Virginia Beach Airport, is home to one of the largest private collections of First and Second World War, and Korean War era fighters, bombers, trainers and seaplanes. Summer Camps and Special Events, and Homeschool Events available.
Members, Children 4 & Under, and WWII Veterans are Free. Group rates are available for groups of 10+ when planned in advance.

Make sure to also take the guided tour. That is the highlight of the museum. Plus there is NO extra charge for the guided tour.
The collection itself was impressive. This is a well run museum. The gentlemen working were all so knowledgeable and enjoyed being there. From what we were told they have some great events and fly some of the planes regularly. Highly recommend visiting. Plan on about 2.5-3 hours.
