Please help me give a warm welcome to our new advertising partner, Peninsula Fine Arts Center (PFAC) in Newport News!
Nurture your child’s sense of wonder and creativity at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, where the Studio Art School features art classes for kids.
Rotating exhibits mean there’s always something new to discover in the artwork. Kids can take that inspiration to the Hands On For Kids Gallery, where they can draw on a giant chalkboard, create crafts or paint like the masters on regular Tuesday and Thursday Paint Days!
Preschoolers can build fine motor skills, learn about colors and shapes, and socialize in PFAC’s weekly Art Start lessons. At 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday, Art Start offers a new guided art activity that’s free with the cost of adult admission.
Preschoolers and parents can also sign up for Little Artist, Big Artist classes, taught by Rosa Lee Harkrader. The classes, scheduled for Jan. 11, Feb. 1 and March 8, will explore color, pattern and values in fun, kid-friendly art activities. Classes are $12 for PFAC members and $15 for nonmembers, or $30 members/$40 nonmembers for all three.
Older kids can sign up for weekend drawing and painting classes, or get their hands dirty in after school clay camp for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Registration is open until the week of each class. Call (757) 596-8175 or Register Online HERE.
Make sure to mention MyActiveChild when signing up for classes and save 10%!
