Veterans Day is reserved for appreciating those who have, and who continue to, put their lives on the line to serve our country. Many of our local community programs are publicizing discounts for Military in honor of the day.

The Virginia Aquarium is proud to honor our military with a Veteran's Day Special. From November 9-17, 2019, take half off Aquarium admission for active duty military, retirees, and veterans. Discount applies only to the individual who served, not the family. Some form of military ID required, including Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), VA ID card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Driver's License with Veterans Designation, government (local, state, or national) ID with individual photographed in uniform, wearing your uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g. American Legion, VFW), Federal Veterans ID Card, DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification showing military service.

The Veteran's Day Ceremony at the MacArthur Memorial will begin in the Visitors Center Theater. A wreath laying will follow at General MacArthur’s grave. The keynote speaker will be Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA). This event is co-sponsored by the City of Norfolk, the MacArthur Memorial, and the City of Norfolk’s Commission on Veteran’s Affairs. Free and open to the public.

Veterans Day Parade
16th Street and Atlantic Avenue to 19th Street, Virginia Beach VA

Get ready for one of the biggest and best Veterans Day parades this area has ever seen. More than 100 units with multiple components have signed up to march or perform during this year's annual parade, hosted by the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations (HRCVO). The parade starts at 9am at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue, and will end at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial on 19th Street, across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Immediately following the parade, a formal ceremony will be held at the parade reviewing stand, located across the street from the Tidewater Veterans Memorial, 1000 19th St. This service will include military and civilian honors to the Veterans.
