Thrifty Thursdays – Free Craft Projects at Downing-Gross

I love these free craft events that are popping up all over the Hampton Roads area! This series is at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News:

Where: Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, 2410 Wickham Ave, Newport News VA

When: The last Thursday of each month at 4:30pm

Description: Enjoy fun D.I.Y. projects without worrying about buying all of the materials! Let your creativity shine and take home your own handmade artwork. These workshops are intended for ages 7+ but children as young as 3 can participate.

• May 31st – Painted Stones: Decorate three rocks that you can keep in the house or hide around the city!
• June 28th – Sticky Slime: Test your chemistry skills by making some sticky slime and a handmade box to carry it!
• July 26th – Fluffy Slime: Put your science skills to work by making some fluffy slime and a box to carry it!
• August 30th – Yarn Letter Décor: Create your own letter decor with a large wooden letter and colored yarn! For this workshop early registration is required. No same-day registration will be available on August 30th. The deadline for registration for this date is 8/28/2018.
