Teen Tech Week is an opportunity for libraries to shine the spotlight on the great digital resources available for teens! Many local libraries are highlighting their programs during this weeklong event themed “Libraries are for Making…”. The Young Adult Library Services Association’s Teen Tech Week runs from March 8-14, 2015.
 
Date: March 9 – 12, 2015 from 4-5pm
Description: Unleash your inner tech-guru and celebrate Teen Tech Week at the Indian River Library. Each day we’ll provide a new and exciting activity for to challenge and delight the teenage masses.
Location: Indian River Library, 2320 Old Greenbrier Road, Chesapeake, VA
 
Date: All week, March 8-14, 2015 during library hours
Description: Learn what the library has to offer & participate in some cool activities to celebrate Teen Tech Week, March 8-14.
Location: Hampton Main Library, 4207 Victoria Boulevard, Hampton, VA
 
Newport News: Teen Tech Week: iAnimate 
Date: March 11 & 12, 2015 from 4-5:30pm

Description: As part of Teen Tech Wek, teens ages (12 – 17) are invited to our 2-day workshop, iAnimate. We will create and produce a stop motion video, using an app for ipads and iphones. Registration required, begins Feb 25.

Location: Main Street Library, 110 Main Street, Newport News, VA

Norfolk: 8-bit Art
Date: March 9, 2015 from 5:30-6:30pm
Description: It is back by popular demand!  Create a masterpiece using plastic beads fused together.

Date: March 14, 2015 from 1-2pm
Description: Teen Tech Week Program
Location: Churchland Library, 4934 High Street West, Portsmouth, VA 23703 

Date: March 8, 2015 frpm 2-4pm
Description: Teens, kick off Teen Tech Week and explore all the new technology the library has to offer. Use the library’s iPads (we have Minecraft) and learn how to download the latest
books, music, and magazines for free.

Date: March 13, 2015 from 6-10pm
Description: Celebrate Teen Tech Week by making things!  Learn blacksmithing, coding and everything in between.
