Preservation Virginia runs a number of historic properties including Chief Justice John Marshall’s 19th-century home, Revolutionary Patrick Henry’s 18th-century home and grounds, the 18th-century planation built on the site of a fort constructed by John Smith, and the 17th-century Jacobean home Bacon’s Castle.
