Saturday, May 16, 2020 is Kids to Parks Day Parks to Kids Day! Kids to Parks Day is an initiative from the National Park Trust to encourage families to get outside and active with the kids! This year looks a little different because of COVID-19, so the National Park Trust is bringing the Parks to Kids - Virtually!
Even though the usual programming isn't happening the parks are open for socially distant exploring. If you aren't able to get out to explore the parks safely, there are lots of great virtual experiences designed to get the kids excited about nature.
New This Year: Virginia State Parks Kids Virtual Art Gallery! Kids age 17 and under can create a drawing, painting, or other work of part inspired by your favorite Virginia State Park. With parent permission, take a high-resolution photo of your artwork and submit to firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure you include the artist's first name, age and a little bit about the art. All submissions are due by Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Submissions will be uploaded to a Virtual Art Gallery that will be shared on May 16th!
