A Free upcoming parenting class offered by Bon Secours in Newport News:

Where: Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital – Conference Center 2 Bernardine Drive Newport News, VA 23602

When: Tuesday evenings, June 11 – July 2, 2019 from 6-8pm

Description: Bon Secours Family Focus is pleased to sponsor an exciting research-based video and discussion workshop called Active Parenting 1-2-3-4 Parent!

This four-week, video-based program is perfect for new parents and parents with children ages 1 to 4. Parents will learn the four stages of child development and how to enhance their children’s learning at each stage. They will learn about parenting styles and discover how to begin building a lifelong bond with their child. Parents will learn nonviolent discipline skills that really work, and how they can set rules that young children can understand and follow. Parents will discover how the power of encouragement helps children learn positive behavior at an early age. They will also learn the importance of taking care of themselves as well as their child.
