Art Classes

There are lots of great programs for kids throughout Hampton Roads and some of them offer FREE sessions and classes. Here are some upcoming Art programs offered for FREE at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News:

Family Creations Art Class at Downing Gross CAC

Family Creations: Arts & Crafts Workshops (Begins October 7, 2020)

Dates: Wednesdays, October 7 – December 16, 2020, (excluding Wednesday, November 11) from 11am-12pm

Enjoy quality time with your preschooler while learning the fundamentals of art through various techniques including painting and drawing. This class is being offered in-person and online via Zoom Video Conferencing Software. Registration is required.

 

Elements Art Class at Downing Gross CAC

Elements: Artist Development for Ages 9-15 (Begins October 6, 2020)

Dates: Tuesdays October 6 – December 15, 2020  from 4-5pm

Students will learn about various famous and local artists. They will learn how to develop a portfolio, prepare for an exhibition, engage in a formal critique, develop public art and more while having fun. This class is being offered in-person and online via Zoom Video Conferencing Software.
