4-H is the youth (ages 5 to 19) development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. 4-H is rich with learning experiences where young people partner with caring adults and volunteers in a fellowship unlike any other program available to youth today. During the summer, 4-H offers a range of day and residential (overnight) camps.
Parents and kids can expect a fun, quality educational experience along with superior safety standards and low counselor-to-camper ratios. Caring, well-trained counselors help ensure an action-packed week of laughing and learning for all. So if you're looking for a different species of Day Camp - you've found it!

Camp Launch provides eligible students in grades 7-10 with unique academic and enrichment opportunities. Campers are recruited from school districts throughout Virginia to participate in this two-week residential program with courses in STEM, Writing, and Personal Development.
Camp Orbit is a two-week extension of Camp Launch and is designed to provide 5-6 Camp Launch alums with an opportunity to participate in hands-on research and mentorship with a W&M or VIMS professor.

Coastal Crush is a nonprofit league that has Fall and Spring season as well as skill clinics. Girls and Boys Fall Lacrosse all skill levels. Girls from Kindergarten through High School. Boys Kindergarten through 8th grade. Join the fun learning and playing lacrosse. Certified coaches are ready to share their knowledge.
One of the BSA's premier programs, offering citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership for youth in grades K to 5.

The traditional Scouting experience where boys and girls can have their share of adventure in the great outdoors. We offer these traditions by allowing our youth to volunteer in their community, boost their leadership skills through fun and exciting challenges, and create memories that last a lifetime. Scouts also get a chance to earn Scouting's highest rank, Eagle Scout. This program is available for boys and girls ages 11-17.

Charles City, James City, and New Kent 4-H Junior Camp is a week-long, residential summer camp program available primarily to residents of James City County and City of Williamsburg ages 9-13. Camp is held every year at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center in Williamsburg, VA. 4-H camp provides youth countless opportunities to develop responsibility, independence, and life skills in a camp setting while interacting with the natural world around them. Days are filled with camp classes, unstructured recreation and swim time, flag ceremonies, evening programs, and campfires!
At age 14, campers will automatically serve as Counselors-in-Training (CIT) during camp. Youth that are ages 15-18 can apply to serve as 4-H Camp Teen Counselors. To learn more, go to our Counselor & CIT Training Site listed below.
Please note that the James City County Virginia Cooperative Extension office is in charge of the planning for and processing registration of our week of 4-H Junior Camp for James City/Williamsburg residents. Jamestown 4-H Educational Center is the facility we use during the week for camp programming. Therefore, Registration and/or questions regarding James City County’s 4-H Junior Camp should be directed to the James City County Extension office at 757-564-2170, NOT the 4-H Center.
