This group serves as a safe space for LGBTQ+ homeschoolers, be they students, or parents, and their allies. We provide social interaction virtually and in person (when Covid responsible). We hope to create a list of LGBTQ+ affirming co-ops, online classes, museums and. more.

We are a mommy and me play group. We organize meet ups with our Littles for some GOOD TIMES while Moms can also interact with each other. This group is intended for moms who would like to have other Mom friends while allowing our kids to play and enjoy each other. This group is mostly weekday meet ups, but we will be open to weekend events as they come.

Mommy&Me Meets has been designed to keep all Mommies up to date with the goings on in our group.

Family Nature Clubs worldwide are dedicated to helping people get time in nature back on the family calendar by providing regular opportunities to engage in hikes, paddles, camping trips and other fun outdoor family activities.

Hampton Roads Soccer is a recreational to travel soccer program for ages 2+. Hampton Roads Soccer is the youth affiliate of Virginia Beach City FC who play in the NPSL. Hampton Rosds Soccer has field partnerships with Norfolk Collegiate, Captain Slade Cutter Athletic Park, and Real Life Chrisitan Church.

The Complex consists of 20 outdoor fields, two of which are the recently added lighted turf fields.

Hampton Roads Sports Academy in Norfolk, VA specializes in baseball training. Seven full size batting cages to use for hitting, fielding and pitching. Our staff of ex-professional players and college players offer their knowledge and set the example for the youth in the game of baseball.

The Center for Bioelectronics Stem Summer Institute (SSI) Program is a one-week academic program for rising 6th - 12th graders who are underrepresented in STEM and are interested in STEM research and STEM careers.

Kids love buses, trains and boats!  Why not take them on a free ride? Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is the regional public transportation agency serving the communities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. HRT provides affordable transit options designed to connect families to jobs, education, healthcare, and recreation. HRT offers a number of public transit services, including bus routes in all six cities, the Tide Light Rail in Downtown Norfolk, the Elizabeth River Ferry between Downtown Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth, seasonal VB Wave trolley service at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Paratransit in all six cities, the free Base Express at Naval Station Norfolk, and OnDemand Rideshare in multiple cities. HRT offers FREE rides to all youth age 17 and under with a paid adult and provides the Student Freedom Pass to youth ages 13 to 17 with free, unlimited access to all transit services, allowing them to ride independently. This free pass gives students an opportunity to get to school, extracurricular activities, and after school jobs. Regular adult fare for daily unlimited riding (check link for pricing) and discounted fare is available to those who qualify. HRT also provides four Free Fare days per year for all riders, on all modes. Free Fare days include Transit Equity Day in February, Earth Day in April, Juneteenth in June, and Election Day in November.   With so many options, families are able connect to nearby restaurants, attractions, hotels, and other destinations. Bicycle storage also offers a convenient way to enhance the recreation experience, with racks on all buses, light rail trains, and ferries.

Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture is a non profit organization that is committed to reducing food insecurity within the Hampton Roads area, through urban farming, educational programming, and by creating a sustainable food system. We manage community gardens that are utilized to train veterans and community members in growing their own food or starting a small scale  farm. We offer programs around healthy eating, over 80% of the food grown in the garden is given away to those in need. We are working to launch our Drones in Agriculture program  for at-risk youth as a way to expose them to careers in agriculture, STEM, coding, healthy eating as well as our youth farmers market entrepreneurship  program. This group if for anyone in Hampton Roads that is interested in Waldorf Education or is already a Waldorf family looking for local support and friendships! This is not just a home school group either so don't feel like you don't belong. Anyone is welcome.

Hampton Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Therapeutic Recreation division provides specialized services for individuals with disabilities in Hampton. Therapeutic recreation activities may include craft classes, trips, camps, adult programs, special events, and varied offerings every season. Our participant-to-staff ratio is appropriate to the needs of the group. In addition, we provide accommodations upon request for individuals with disabilities in our general recreation programs. The Therapeutic Recreation staff will work with participants, parents/guardians, and staff to help ensure an enjoyable recreation experience. Advanced notice for any requests for accommodations are welcome.

The Hampton University Museum is the oldest museum in the nation dedicated to African-American art and culture. Among the new additions is an exhibit showcasing modern art from Africa that coincided with the Black American Renaissance. Museum Hours: Monday–Friday: 8am–5pm | Saturday, Sunday, and all Major Holidays: Closed | Archives are closed on Saturday Admission is free.

Enrichment and academic opportunities for participants of all ages.

This state-of-the-art aquatics center provides recreational opportunities for the community with a 50-meter pool, a 25-yard pool and an outdoor splash park. This facility serves two purposes: as a community fitness and wellness center with swimming lessons and as a generator of youth sports travel. The complex offers water safety and first learn-to-swim classes to all Hampton second-grade students. Spring and summer camps available.
