Summer Arts Camp | Summer Pottery Camp SOLD OUT Summer Arts Camp At d’Art Center our mission is to provide unique opportunities for our community to experience the visual arts. Every summer we offer an arts camp designed for children ages 6-14 to watch, learn, create, and enjoy art in an interactive environment. Throughout these weeks, campers will learn about different art mediums and techniques from weekly 30-minute demonstrations led by d’Art Artists, while creating a variety of themed projects that nurture their imagination and encourage creative thinking, and enjoy diverse activities led by special guests, as well as trips to The Chrysler Museum of Art & Perry Glass Studio. Previous guests have included Virginia Air & Space Science Center, Norfolk Master Gardeners, Zeider's American Dream Theater, Push Comedy, Mathnasium, Norfolk SPCA, and more! Pottery camp combines traditional mud clay, air dry clay and polymer clay due to time constraints for kiln firing. Pieces will either be glazed and fired or air dried and painted with acrylics, then sealed. Throughout these weeks, campers will learn about different art mediums and techniques from weekly 30-minute demonstrations led by d’Art Artists, while creating a variety of themed projects that nurture their imagination and encourage creative thinking, and enjoy diverse activities led by special guests, as well as trips to The Chrysler Museum of Art & Perry Glass Studio.
