Discover Virginia Beach history in one of the oldest buildings on the boardwalk. Exhibits cover shipwrecks, rescues, and local storms, along with boardwalk, surfing, and lifeguard history. Group tours and homeschool programs available.
Summer day camps, dance classes, fitness programs, aquatic programs and social/leisure programs, for children, teens and adults with disabilities such as Autism, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, moderate behavioral/emotional disorders, mild to profound intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, visual, hearing and/or physical impairments.
We are a small yoga studio conveniently located on Lynnhaven Parkway, 1 mile from Holland Road. We offer kids yoga classes (ages 5-11), Wild Warriors twice a week.
The first class is FREE!
An auditioned choir for children ages 6 to 18 in grades 1 through 12. The four choir groups meet during the school year for group choral rehearsals including instruction in sight-reading, rhythms, note reading, diction (including foreign languages), breath support, posture, vocal tone, expression, choral blend, and stage presence. Summer camp program available.
Rehearsals are held in Norfolk for all four choirs and also in Virginia Beach for the two younger choirs (approx. 1st to 7th grade). The groups perform throughout Hampton Roads in many concerts both solo and with other performing groups, such as The Bay Youth Orchestras. The older students perform with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and the Virginia Arts Festival. Virginia Children's Chorus is a non-profit arts education organization. Scholarships may be available.
Sailing trips, motorboat tours, kayaking adventures, and inshore fishing expeditions on the lower Eastern Shore.

Virginia Space Coast Scholars is a FREE program for high school sophomores that focuses on STEM concepts central to NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility and the Mid- Atlantic Regional Spaceport.
The program includes an online course with five modules running from November to March. Top students may be invited to a seven-day residential academy at NASA Wallops on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, where they engage with NASA professionals and explore current missions.
From school visits and spaceport tours, to workforce development and internships- VA Space offer a variety of STEM opportunities at VSA for anyone looking to learn more about the work they do.
Virginia Spaceport Authority hosts a job shadowing day and internship opportunities at the World Trade Center in Norfolk for high school students.

Sports museum with multimedia and interactive exhibits, as well as displays honoring Virginia sports stars.
Virginia Stage offers Educational Matinees, In-School Tours, Workshops, Residencies, Stagedoor and Summer Camp Programs. They also hold family friendly performances throughout the year.
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra performs in multiple venues throughout the Hampton Roads area, and provides education and concerts to countless students and patrons each year.
Concerts for all ages take place throughout the year including free community concerts, and concerts focusing on introducing children to musical performances, like the popular children's PB&Jam Series that provides a hands-on instrument experience before each show.
Some of the local community programs include:
- School Orchestra Artistic Residency. Throughout the year, participating schools enjoy regular visits from symphony musicians, master classes, and private concerts.
- Masterclasses. The VSO’s internationally acclaimed guest soloists provide instruction to young musicians. Masterclasses are also open to the public to listen and learn from our Guest Soloists.
- Heartstrings. Strengthens character through string instruction for elementary students in underserved schools. The program is open to any child in grades 1-6 who would like to learn music.
- The Harmony Project fosters relationships between African-American church congregations and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra through performances, educational and social interaction in the church and in the concert hall.
- Fellows Quartet. Our VSO Fellows every year create their own quartet performances to perform in schools and teach young children about orchestral music, and how it can relate to them even at a young age. Children are introduced to the different and unique ways classical musical instruments are used in everyday films, tv shows, and media.
- The Young People’s Concert series is an integral part of the Symphony’s education program. Integrated into school music programs through Carnegie Hall’s Link Up Program, the VSO reaches over 25,000 students in fourteen different school districts as well as students in private schools and home school environments.
