Yorktown Independence Day 8K Run/Walk/Ruck and 5K Run/Walk (Yorktown)
July 4 @ 7:00 am - 10:30 am
Run or walk in the footsteps of Washington, Hamilton, Lafayette, and Rochambeau on the very ground where our nation’s independence was won!
This is a chip-timed 8K event that participants can run, walk, or Ruck on the Fourth of July on the Historic Yorktown Virginia Battlefield Tour Road.
Race participants will park and gather near the York High School tennis courts (9300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692) and will be led to the start line by Fife and Drummers. Race Day packet pick up only from 7 to 8:30 a.m.
8K Details:
- USATF certified 8K Course VA16022RT
- The 8K race starts at 8 a.m.
- All 8K participants receive a custom race T (Custom Race T and t-shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24), and the first 350 to register and finish receive a custom die cast commemorative medal. Awards for the top three overall men and women.
- 8K participants will compete for age group awards starting at 14 and under, 15-19. There will be five-year increments from 20-24 to 75 and over.
- 8K Ruck Division: Awards to the top overall Male and Female Ruck finisher.
5K Details:
- The 5K Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m.
- All 5K Fun Run participants receive a finisher coin and a custom race T while supplies last (Custom Race T and t-shirt size guaranteed to those registered by June 24).
- The 5K Run/Walk is not a timed event.
There will be refreshments and a post race celebration after your finish
