Winter Lantern Festival (Jamestown)

November 6, 2026 @ 5:30 pm - January 3, 2027 @ 10:00 pm

As America’s 250th celebration of the Declaration of Independence comes to a close, ring out the momentous anniversary year with winter nights aglow in red, white and blue.

Guests can wander among glowing lanterns in patriotic displays, historical and natural settings befitting the days of early America, each artisan-crafted lantern composed of hand-painted silk cloth draped over a frame filled with glimmering lights.

Ranging from 6- to 30-feet high, the lanterns feature a variety of figures and designs, including woodland creatures, natural landscapes, and glimpses of American history and innovative spirit, projecting a wonderland of light and color.

The Winter Lantern Festival returns to Jamestown Settlement, a museum of 17th-century Virginia, beginning on Friday, November 6. The festival continues on Thursday through Sunday evenings, November 13  to December 10, and each evening, December 17 to January 3, 5:30-10 p.m. (Last entry – 9 p.m.)

The Winter Lantern Festival, produced by Kaleido Entertainment, illuminates Jamestown Settlement after dark with a dazzling display of light for the whole family.

he Winter Lantern Festival requires a separate ticket and is not included in Jamestown Settlement general admission.
