Virginia Chorale Young Singers Project Auditions (Newport News)
November 9 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Young Singers Project showcases some of the best high school singers in southeastern Virginia. Students are selected in a highly competitive audition process each fall; once selected they sing alongside and are mentored by professional singers from the Chorale. Our 2027 YSP ensemble will be conducted by Artistic Director Charles Woodward. The Young Singers Project participants will join the professional singers of the Virginia Chorale in an inspiring joint concert of choral music by composers from across the NATO alliance. Voices of Alliance will bring together the rich musical traditions of NATO member nations in a celebration of friendship and heritage. Along with repertoire preparation, rehearsal sessions will focus on healthy vocal technique, musicianship, and choral artistry.Â
Auditions will take place on 11/9 & 11/10. Auditions will be held Monday, November 9 at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, and Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at Batten University in Virginia Beach.** Click HERE to register.
