Swim League Prep Clinic at Kempsville Recreation Center (Virginia Beach)

These clinics are for participants interested in improving their stroke techniques. Participants must be comfortable swimming one length of the pool (25 meters/yards) demonstrating some knowledge of the specified stroke and a rhythmic breathing pattern. Additionally, swimmers must be comfortable swimming in deep water. A Recreation Center Membership or day pass is required for participation.
Freestyle Prerequisites: Demonstrates a good front crawl stroke with rhythmic breaths.Backstroke Prerequisite: Demonstrates a good back crawl on back and face is out of the water.Breaststroke Prerequisite: Demonstrates some form of frog kick with a pull and breath, kick and glide pattern.Butterfly Prerequisite: Demonstrates a dolphin kick and simultaneous arm movement.Starts, Turns, and Finishes Prerequisite: Demonstrates some knowledge of all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke).Individual Medley Prerequisite: Please note: This clinic will work on the transition between each stroke in the event. Demonstrates some knowledge of all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).Swim League Prep Prerequisite: Participants must have knowledge of front crawl with rhythmic breathing and back crawl and be comfortable in deep water.
